This free HEIC to JPG converter turns iPhone photos into JPG (JPEG) right in your browser — in batches, with no upload, no signup and no watermark. Since iOS 11 the iPhone camera has saved pictures as HEIC by default: about half the file size of a JPG at the same quality, and a format Windows won't preview without an extra extension, that many Android phones can't open and that a long list of websites and older programs flatly reject. You can switch the camera to "Most Compatible" in Settings and shoot JPG from now on, but the thousands of photos already in your library stay HEIC — those still have to be converted, which is what this page is for. HEIC is Apple's name for a HEIF image file, which stores photos using modern HEVC compression. It has been the iPhone camera's default since iOS 11 because it saves roughly half the space of a JPG at the same quality. The trade-off is compatibility — and it works the other way too: converting to JPG will usually about double the file size. That is the price of a format everything can open.

JPG is a lossy format, so a re-encode is never mathematically identical to the original. At a high quality setting the difference is invisible in normal viewing and in print; only heavy compression starts to soften fine detail. Your HEIC originals are never modified, so you can convert again at a higher setting at any time.

A Live Photo converts to its still frame: the JPG keeps the picture, not the short video attached to it. Transparency is rarely a concern with camera photos, since they have no transparent areas — but if a HEIC does carry an alpha channel, those pixels are filled with the background color set above the converter (white by default), because JPG has no alpha channel at all.
